On Wednesday July 20th at 7:30PM the Champaign County Historical Society will host Mr. William B. Saxbe.  He will talk about his life and times.  Mr. Saxbe is an Attorney, a member of the military during WW II, an Ohio House of Representative member, an Ohio Attorney General, and United States Senator.  In 1974 he was appointed US Attorney General and later became the US Ambassador to India.  We welcome Mr. Saxbe as our guest speaker.

We welcome new members, James R. Heiser, Urbana, Ohio and Brian L. Beauchamp, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.

Please wish Barbara Sour a quick return for the newsletter.  She is recuperating from hip replacement surgery and is doing very well.

- 4th of July Historical Tidbits -

From the July 10, 1880 New Era:

“St. Paris did not celebrate the fourth but most of her people did.  Some accompanied the Band to Plain City, some went to see the fire works at Urbana and a few took the advice of the New Era and went to Sabbath School.  At Plain City one of our bloods got in the cooler, while two others took leg bail.  These were the only accidents reported.  It was a dull fourth.”
