Vote Yes for The Champaign County Historical Museum on Nov. 6, 2018
The members of the Champaign County Historical Society are asking for an operating levy to support the Champaign County Historical Museum. After 84 years of operating the County-wide museum with only member’s dues and donations, we have maxed out our ability to grow the museum and its operations. Through the levy, we will be able to provide the Citizens of Champaign County with 5 distinct benefits:
What will this levy cost?
The average Champaign County homeowner will pay $10.50 per year or 20 cents per week to help us present a Museum that is modern, inviting and an interesting place to visit.
How will the moneys be spent?
1/3 on Education and Preservation, 1/3 on Programs and Displays, 1/3 on Operations and Maintenance.
If you have more questions about the levy, please Contact Us.
- Availability: A museum open 5 days a week instead of 2 so we can tell the Champaign County story.
- Education: A museum that presents focused historical programs to support our schools and youth.
- Comprehensive: A museum that presents the entire history of our County, every township and town.
- Competence: A museum that can hire staff to help develop programs and displays.
- Preservation: A museum that has the skills and can afford to preserve and protect our valuable artifacts.
